Signage Color plays a very important role in complementing your exterior design. Notice the previous colors chosen and the changes made. We took in to account all colors involved with this project. The Exterior is an extension of the interior.
Don't let the colors conflict with each other, you will have a site that makes the cones of your eyes react in such a way that the message it sends to your brain won't be a compliment.
Have you ever driven by a building and thought.. "What were they thinking?" They weren't thinking. They don't think about the amount of light, amount of landscape, concrete, glass color, water reflection, window frame color, window treatment color, shingles, and so on. We have to take into account alot of exterior elements when we design exterior colors, including paint manufacturers colorants and acrylics and binders.

MIXED USE - MULTIFAMILY- COMMERCIAL- RESIDENTIAL Whether its New Construction, Exterior Repaints, Rehabs or Upgrades, no amount of schooling can't train a person on how to choose colors. It requires years of on-site knowledge to understand the drying effects of paint on substrates, environmental issues and industry trends. Additional knowledge from working with paint & understanding the effects of colorants, paint bases & depth of color is necessary.
Using White & not knowing the "Degree" of White can make your substrates look like primer and often not last the length of time you might think previous "colors" lasted. I'm seeing so many locations using White with a Darker trim, I don't know who started this "trend", but repaints will be coming sooner than later. Why? Depending on your Location: The sun-soaked reality of tropical living! The intense sunlight, humidity, and frequent rain showers can wreak havoc on exterior paint, especially white. Here's why it doesn't last as long: UV Radiation: The strong UV rays in Florida or same type of environment can cause white paint to fade, chalk, and break down over time. Humidity: High humidity levels can lead to mildew and mold growth on the paint surface, especially with lighter colors. Rain: Frequent rainstorms and tropical conditions can lead to water damage and wash off paint layers. Google it.
Business & Colors - Knowing what colors will attract potential Buyers/Residents/Clients (creating traffic) for your business & what offends (less traffic & vacancy increases/loss of revenue). Do you know if you paint "colors" instead of White, people accept it and spend more? They react to certain colors without know why, it's the psychology of colors. Hospitals stopped painting interior White years ago, Why? Originally thinking the White looked clean, sterile, it was not a productive color to "Heal", once they changed and brought in colorful schemes, they saw a positive response. Not only did it influence moods and behavior, it creates a certain atmosphere that's calming with the right colors.
White tends to "age" anything it's around immediately, you paint an interior white, move furniture in and immediately the "tones" aren't as pleasing & your items look old, your mood changes. This also tends to be the same with apparel, why do you think they made Corporate Blue? I guarantee all of these White substrates will start showing more wear within the first 6 months and you will see your touch-ups be a monthly maintenance issue and it won't be touch-ups, it will be corner to corner touch-ups, more paint used. Commercial/Retail Owners - ask yourself - Do you attract customers to your location with your color design? How does your exterior color design reflect on your image?
Are you losing drive by traffic because of your look? Is your color design targeting your market?

Not only does color play on people's emotions & bring a ROI to the community. The paint base & sheen are just as important to the Owner. The grade & quality of the chemicals of paint needs to be matched to the applied substrate. The days of slapping paint up to make it pretty are over, there are more behind the scenes that take place when designing.
In order to "see" the color there needs to be depth, this is achieved by having the correct mix of base & color to the substrate.
The picture above only gives you a glimpse of the depth of color, to see this in person will show you how getting the correct mix works. Since the colors have gone up, the owner has had an increase in drive by traffic, increased occupancy & rent. Residents are adding to the neighborhood feel by decorating their balconies & planting flowers.
